Quiet Catastrophes: Artit’s Curator’s Picks

We’re excited to announce that Sillygoose has been selected as one of the featured artists in Artit’s Curator’s Picks – June 2025, a global open call centered around the theme heat // archives.

Hosted by Artit, a digital platform dedicated to discovering and supporting contemporary visual artists, this month’s Curator’s Picks asked: What does it mean to archive something that’s disappearing in real time? Instead of focusing on loud, catastrophic imagery, the call invited artists to explore the emotional and personal layers of a warming world  the quiet grief, the subtle resistance, and the ways heat lingers in memory.

Among six st66666andout artists, Sillygoose was selected for the piece Patience, a digital collage that gently confronts the viewer with a scene that’s soft, delicate  and unsettling.

The artwork is rendered in a soft, muted palette. Origami bears  fragile, folded, symbolic  rest atop melting ice cubes, which represent not natural snow, but something colder, more artificial. It’s a quiet meditation on loss: not the kind that screams, but the kind we live with daily and often ignore.

By layering symbolic elements and giving them space to breathe, Patience offers a visual pause  an invitation to feel the weight of what’s happening around us, slowly and often invisibly.

We’re deeply thankful to Artit for recognizing the voice and vision behind this work, and proud to be featured alongside fellow artists
