Doha, Qatar — July 16, 2025 Fire Station: Artist in Residence presents Printed Nostalgia, a major group exhibition at Gallery 4 running until September 1, 2025. About the Work

Selected from 322 international submissions, Printed Nostalgia is more than a gallery show it is a curated anthology of personal and collective history. Through digital illustration, photography, painting, collage, and text, the exhibition explores architecture, culture, migration, and everyday life. Curators Saida Alkhulaifi and Fatima AlZaini have shaped a space where audiences don’t just see art, they enter into dialogue with it. At its heart lies a reflective room: a space to slow down, breathe, and encounter your own memories halfway.

Within this context, Sillygoose’s two featured works stand out:

SuperMario reframes a pop culture icon not as a simple throwback, but as a commentary on how shared symbols become private anchors of memory. Candy Apple transforms a small, sensory fragment of childhood into something cinematic the sweetness, the stickiness, the nostalgia layered in every glossy surface.

The Voice

“These works aren’t about longing for the past. They’re about recognising the fingerprints it leaves on everything we see today.”
— Sillygoose
